Brian Dantzig
Division Vice President/Branch Manager
Walnut Creek, CABrian graduated from St. Mary’s College, Moraga, CA with a BA in Liberal Arts. He began his insurance career with a National Insurance Brokerage Firm where he excelled in selling and creating group programs for many different industries.
Brian brings to the Heffernan Insurance Brokers innovative ideas, insurance expertise and enthusiasm. He is responsible for handling multi-line risks and provides risk management services to meet the clients’ needs. His responsibilities include review and analysis of benchmark exposures, customer review, market understanding, account management, loss control, claims management and service personnel activities.
Kerry Dantzig
Vice President – Non-Profit Division
Walnut Creek, CAKerry joined the Heffernan Group directly out of college. She began her insurance career as an account manager in our small business unit where she learned the ins and outs of the insurance industry. In 1995 she moved to Heffernan Group’s non-profit department, handling the church accounts while producing new church clientele.
Kerry currently specializes in growth of the group various church programs. She sells several regional and national comprehensive insurance programs. In addition to her sales responsibilities, Kerry assists in the managing of the non-profit division. She produces quarterly risk management newsletters and conducts risk management seminars to Heffernan Group’s non-profit clients.
Kerry was born in New York and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She earned her Bachelor of Arts at California State University, Chico. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, the outdoors, sports and spending time with family and friends.
Shelaine Gonsalves
Senior Account Manager
Walnut Creek, CAShelaine has been in the insurance business since 1999. Her commercial experience was gained through extensive assistance to many of our Producers in handling various sizes of accounts. Shelaine is responsible for servicing many of our large accounts. Her knowledge and expertise in the marketplace has contributed greatly to our success in placing accounts with the best markets at the most competitive pricing.
LuAnn Watkins
Account Manager

LuAnn has been with Heffernan Insurance Brokers for 11 years, the last 6 years with the Church Unit. She handles workers' compensation and property/liability for the Lutheran Church Program, as well as workers compensation and other miscellaneous coverages for the Presbyterian and other denominational churches. With over 25 years experience in the insurance industry, she provides the skills and knowledge necessary to assist the churches in any situation.Gina Haselroth
