Heffernan Foundation Announces Grant-a-Wish Recipients to Loving and McManus Families
WALNUT CREEK, Calif., June 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Heffernan Foundation, the charitable giving program for Heffernan Insurance Brokers, announces the Loving and McManus families as its inaugural Grant-a-Wish recipients. Wishes were granted to two Bay Area families with children ages 4-18, and the Foundation's goal is to expand the program in the future.
Loving Family – Jeff and his wife, Brenda, brought four orphaned kids home from Ethiopia. Shortly after the last two were adopted, Brenda was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She passed away leaving Jeff, a respected coach and teacher, to raise four kids between the ages of 3-5. We will set up a baseball day at AT&T Park for Jeff and the kids to enjoy and create new memories.
McManus Family – Two creative, curious and smart children lost their father suddenly last summer and their wish is to attend camp this year. Heffernan's Grant-a-Wish program will sponsor their attendance at the camp of their choice.
