Heffernan Foundation Launches 4-year $100,000 Scholarship Partnership with College Track
WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Oct. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Heffernan Foundation, the charitable giving program for Heffernan Insurance Brokers, announced today that it has launched a scholarship program in partnership with College Track that will provide $25,000 per year for four years to recipients.
The Heffernan Foundation will select one student from College Track each year to receive the four year scholarship of $25,000 per year. By 2018, the Heffernan Foundation will have four students each receiving the scholarship. College Track is a national organization that recruits students from underserved communities for a ten year program from 9th grade through college graduation providing academic support, advising, leadership training, and scholarships.

College Track makes the transition seamless," said Michelle Lonaker, Director of the Heffernan Foundation. "I have seen the great results the students achieve and look forward to our new partnership with College Track and their students. The underserved students they reach will have a great chance of succeeding not only throughout their high school and college education, but also into their careers and adult life."
The program's first recipient is Vanesa Lara out of College Track Oakland, who is currently in her freshman year at University of California, Merced.
